Joe Davis served as youth pastor here in Sarasota from 1999-2005. He has a Masters in Theology and is fondly called “Pastor Joe” by students, parents and principals of local high schools. In 2008, he and his wife Laura created a non-profit organization called MobilePreacher.org. The concept was devoted entirely to developing a wide campaign to impact troubled youth throughout Sarasota County. In order to reach out to a broader spectrum of youth and offer more services, the board of Mobile Preacher raised funds to make a down payment on a facility. The Nightlife Center was created to fulfill a dream of the Davis’ to make a difference in the future of our youth.
Laura Davis- Administrative Director- Laura has been instrumental right from the beginning, along with her husband Joe, in making Nightlife Center a reality. Her business experience comes from starting a small family company in South Carolina, which grew into a lucrative corporation. Laura will use her business skills to oversee all corporate and financial portions of Nightlife Center. She will also be in charge of human resources, organizational policies and special events. Laura has been mentoring young women for over 15 years and will continue to do so with young women who come to the center in crisis.
Nathaniel Edison- I have always felt a calling on my life to work with youth. That was apparent to me, even at a young age. I have been a youth pastor for the past 7 years. I am passionate about discipleship and teaching. Seeing young people fall more deeply in love with the man Christ Jesus is my ult imate ministry desire. I love to work one on one with students, with the goal of raising them up as leaders. In that way they can go out and disciple a second generation of students.
I believe that this generation of young people are so thirsty for something, that they are looking everywhere to find fulfillment. As I a youth pastor I want to point them to Jesus, and get out of the way. it is my passion to help them learn to study the word, help them learn to live a life of prayer, and to nurture them so they learn to actually enjoy walking with Christ.
To see young people truly in relationship with Jesus, and developing a faith that is real is what I am dedicated to do. I am passionate about helping them discover their gifts and their destiny in Christ. Equipping them to live the life that God meant for them to live.
After coming to know the Lord, Amber has had a strong desire for missionary work, specifically in the area of at-risk youth. This passion has allowed her to minister and serve in her local church youth group, inner-city youth program in Jacksonville, orphans in Nicaragua and Honduras, and teenage gang girls within one of Guatemala's Prisons. After completing her Masters in Social Work, God has now given Ammber the opportunity to work with homeless and foster youth in the Bradenton Area. As part of the Nightlife staff, Amber ministers perticularily to the teenage girls in response to the challenges facing them in their daily lives.
Chris Martini- Staff Counselor/ Drug & Alcohol Speaker- Chris joined mobilepreacher.org in August of 2009, Chris has a powerful story of redemption and has shared it with thousands of students in all types of youth groups, high schools, colleges, and Teen Court settings. He works with the Sarasota Youth Shelter, is a sports team chaplain at Riverview and Booker High Schools. He leads three church services once a month at Manatee Palms for their kids in the program. He also represents mobilepreacher.org at juvenile institutions in Bradenton and Sarasota. He is also an on site counselor for students that come into the Nightlife Center
Tony Camp-Church Outreach & Family Ministries Specialist- Tony joined the Nightlife Center in August of 2009. He works with local churches and other youth organizations to learn how the Nightlife Center work together with them. Tony is also a specailist in Family Ministries, and serves as a resource to churches regarding how to strengthen the families in their congegations.
Jeffery Scott Frayer- Facility & Media Manager- Jeffery comes to us with a background in Management, Graphic Arts, & Professional Photography. As a former Youth Minister, Jeffery also brings to the table a unique ability to work with students in many facets. Jeffery serves as a Snack Bar Manager, Graphic Artist & Photographer, Facility Manager, Facility Booking Agent, Community Service Liason, & General Construction & Repair Guy. He has also been branded as the in-house smart-alec.
